This is what we will be working on for the week of September 24-28.  Happy Fall!  It feels more like fall now! :)

Spelling:
Our spelling words next week will be words focused on greek root words.  We will study the meaning of these roots and learn how to use them correctly.  The test is Friday, September 28.

English:
We finished up unit 1 on what is a sentence?    We will probably be doing a little more practice with that unit next week because half of the class did not do too well on the test.  I am going to give those students a little extra practice and a chance to bring their grade up a little.

Reading:
We started our new unit on Courage.  We will continue with that unit next week and talk about theme of a story and how to find the theme in a story and the meaning behind them.  We will continue our talk about Martin Luther King and others who show courage.

Social Studies/Science:
We finished up chapter 4 this week on the northeast geography.  We will have our test on Tuesday, September 25.  A study guide is going home today, as well as, the homework the students have had all week will help them study for the test.  We will then start Chapter 5 on the people of the northeast after the test.

Math:
We had our first quiz and test this week.  The students have also had fun learning games to play to practice strategies.  Next week we will start unit 2 on multi-digit multiplication and early division.

Important Info:
Reminder that we have an early dismissal day on Wednesday, September 26.  The students are dismissed at 11:00 am.
September 25, Tuesday is final magazine turn in day.
September 28, Friday is the first movie night.  6:30-8:30

Have a great weekend!
