  Reading
We read a story this week- Flower Garden. It is a cute story about a little girl who makes a flower box for her mother's birthday.  The weather this week was not very spring like even though we talked a lot about spring weather with this story. :( Some vocabulary words we learned are: pedestrian, passenger, eager, and assortment.

Jolly Phonics

Math
We finished topic 12 this week on measurement.  We will start topic 13 when we get back from spring break on sorting, classifying and analyzing data at a kindergarten level!  :)  Centers this week we practiced measuring different items, counted by 5's and 10's, and made different addition sentences using dice.

Writing/ Handwriting
We practiced the letter Zz in handwriting this week. We are done with all the letters now in handwriting.  I am stressing that the students start to write with all lowercase letters unless it is the beginning of a name or sentence.  We did a craft today on a flower- it is cute and is hanging in the room.

Please remember to send in a HEALTHY snack for your child- cookies and treats are not healthy snacks.  It needs to be a 100%juice, fruits or vegetables preferably, otherwise crackers or something like that.

Have a wonderful spring break!  See you in April!
