 October 15-19 News!

Spelling:
Our spelling words next week will be words that are grade appropriate and specific vocabulary to use for a richer reading and writing platform.  The test is Friday, October 19.

English:
We started unit 5 this week on capitalization and punctuation.  We will continue with that next week as well.  We have drafted our realistic fiction story, we will continue to work on it next week and have conferences with classmates to help with ideas for improvement on the stories.

Reading:
We are still in our Courage unit.  We will be doing some cause and effect activities and vocabulary work next week.  We will do some cause and effect and comparing with other stories and articles, which we will then use to compare with the Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King story.

Social Studies/Science:
We started the first part of our United States map- the Northeast region.  They look great so far!  We will do a fun project next week on creating a Narrangansett Village.  We will end the week with a Northeast feast!  Trying some food from resources used in the Northeast!

Math:
We finished this week with a checkpoint on the math strategies we have learned the past couple weeks.  We will finish unit 2 module 3 next week on multiplication stories and strategies.

Important Info:
Parent conferences are October 23 and 24, I sent an email to sign up earlier this week- if you did not receive it let me know and I will resend it to you.

Have a great weekend!
